Player Biography
Sergio Mitre
Sergio Mitre was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 7th round of the 2001 Amateur Draft. After the 2005 season concluded, he was then traded, along with Renyel Pinto and fellow Sosnick Cobbe client Ricky Nolasco, to the Florida Marlins in exchange for Juan Pierre.
Sergio missed most of the 2006 season with a shoulder injury, but was a focal point of the Marlins' rotation in 2007, setting career highs in wins, starts, and innings pitched. Early in the 2011 season, Sergio was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers where he has added stability to their bullpen.
